Alexandra Wolfson
Alex is from Spokane, Washington, where she attends Ferris High School. Alex has 5 immediate family members, not including herself. She wants to major in theology/religious studies when she goes to college. Alex says she first called herself a feminist in 6th grade when she learned of the unfortunate history of the subjugation of women and decided things needed to be done to bring equality forward even more, and to ensure that no one is subjugated on the basis of gender. Later, Alex decided that right to non-discrimination included things like reproductive health issues and sexual orientation. She is proud to call herself a feminist.
What is Feminism?
To me, feminism is insuring that everyone is treated equally and making sure nothing relating to gender or reproductive choices do not lead to discrimination.
What is Choice?
To me, choice is allowing everyone to have complete control over their reproduction or lack of reproduction depending on what they choose. This includes abortion, safe sex information, the right to deliver at locations other than hospitals if desired, the right to contraception, and more.
